    Biography:

Gordon Has been an athlete for most of his life having started out as a sprinter in his very early years progressing to include 400m events in High School. Cross country also featured heavily in those early years including his time in the Defence Forces. Road running became the norm with events from 10km through to Ultra marathons until mid 1980′ when he decided to do Triathlons after a visit to California in 1985.

These early Triathlons were canoe triathlons where a K1 race canoe is used over 5km as the first stage instead of the swim. A standard distance event was 5km canoe, 40km Cycle and 10km Run. There was also Iron Man type events where the canoe leg was 27km.

In the early to mid 90’s Gordon had to make a decision between 2 sports namely Triathlon/endurance running and Dancing (Ballroom and Latin American) which he was doing at the same time. He decided to put all his efforts into the Dancing and turned Professional and was selected to compete at the world championships. He took part in Dance Competitions around Europe including a period of teaching/coaching Ballroom and Latin American dancing in Austria. after this Gordon settled in the United Kingdom and after splitting with his dance partner went back to running and triathlons(this time the standard Swim Triathlon) In the late 1990’s Gordon trained as a Coach with UK Athletics and is now a Level 3 Performance Coach in Middle Distance and Endurance. This was followed up with training as a BTF  L2 Triathlon coach.

Gordon runs an online Zoom Strength and Conditioning Session every Wednesday Morning starting at 07:00 and lasts 1 hour. This session makes use of bodyweight, short and long resistance bands and occassionally dumbbells and kettlebells.

Gordon is currently coaching at Reading University and has a number of other athletes across various disciplines and capabilities.
